Carol Brehmer, MA, CFSP
Certified Family Support Specialist and the Dinosaur School Coordinator
Carol is the Incredible Years Dinosaur School Coordinator. This is an innovative program designed to help young children learn social-emotional skills. Using puppets, books, games and conversations, children practice problem-solving, exploring their emotions, managing their anger in healthy ways, and friendship building. Carol’s theatrical experience brings a special depth to the puppet characters of Dina, Wally, and Molly who are key players in the Dinosaur School program. Carol is very active volunteering within the community: delivering meals for the hospital, singing in her church choir & Clarinda Sings, and she is an active participant in Community Theatre.
Carol performs dual roles at Southwest Iowa Families. In spring 2011 she stepped into the position of Family Support Specialist with Positive Family, and in 2020 she passed the National Family Support Certification Exam. Having previously been employed as a librarian, substitute teacher, junior choir director, and church secretary, she brings a rich array of experience to the agency, together with her dedication to the children of the community.
